Multiplication Times table circles pegging activity

I have been trying to think of ways to incorporate fine motor skills into the classroom.  I am hoping that improving hand strength will help with handwriting.

As I am in Year 3 at the moment we are also starting to learn times tables.  So I made these times table wheels.  They are attractive to look at so hopefully the children will want to pick them up.  They are colour coded for each number to match the Montessori beads that I have in the classroom.

You could use them to chant the times tables as you turn the disk.

I have used a sharpie to add numbers to pegs (#affiliate) so that the children can peg the the right answer to the sum.

To do this activity I have laminated them with 125 pouches so there is extra rigidity.  I also printed them on card.

It was a great activity at home too as Freya and Seb could both work at their own levels.
